How a three-person bakery doubled its Diwali orders without buying a single ad

Neha Pawar started Monsoon Crumb in her kitchen four years ago. This year, she took 540 festive orders, up from 260.

The three things that worked

  1. A newsletter two weeks before the festival with the menu and a hard cut-off date.
  2. A single order form instead of 40 chat threads.
  3. A pickup slot every ten minutes, so no queue.

I used to answer messages until midnight. The form gave me my evenings back.

She now plans to hire a second baker.

This is a demo story: every name, place, organisation and figure in it is fictional.
