The Tilt Bookshop (fictional) shut in March. In June it came back with a 400-rupee monthly membership that includes a book, a coffee and a Saturday meeting.

Members get a monthly pick chosen by the shop's three owners, and a 20 percent discount on other books. They run a Saturday reading hour, a kids' corner and a writing group.

The shop now makes more money from 300 members than it did from walk-in sales, and its rent is covered.

This is a demo story: every name, place, organisation and figure in it is fictional.
